What Are These Tools?

The Soul Garage's life tools are divided into three general categories:

  1. Deep insights into everyday concerns
  2. New whole- brain approaches to problem solving
  3. Spiritual guidance

You will find plenty of 1) and 2) in both DAILY TOOLS and RELATIONSHIP TOOLS.

Because this web site's single most powerful offering, indeed its core, is spiritual guidance, a few words are in order. Following spiritual guidance is the simplest, most effective method of getting where you want to be in your life. Notice that I didn't say "easiest." That part is up to each of us. Not everyone finds it easy to follow the guidance they receive, whether it be from their own intuitive knowing or an outside source. Why? Because it usually involves some degree of letting go. Discarding old, outdated habits and beliefs about ourselves and life.

There is often a tendency to try to get around guidance with the justification "Oh, that's not me. I don't see how staying at this job can short-circuit my creativity. Besides, I need the money." It can seem so much easier to continue to do what we've always done.

What Does "Offering Guidance" Mean?

My gift is the ability to receive written guidance from a higher perspective. Following this guidance has freed me every time I have gotten "stuck;" I have found my true self and my purpose. That purpose involves opening to receive spiritual guidance for others, which I have for years provided in person.

I am delighted to now make that same connection for you on this web site, via e-mail.

You will find examples of guidance, how it works, and more about what it can do for you in GUIDANCE FAQ.

Does This Involve Change?

Because all of The Soul Garage life tools work in tandem with your spirit you will begin to see everything more clearly – and ground-level change often accompanies improving vision. You may find yourself leaving a job or possibly even losing it. The same holds true for relationships. Once you say, "Okay, maybe I have an untapped inner wisdom that knows better than I do what I need for total fulfillment" and then begin in some way to act on that statement, you had better hold on to your hat, because your life will be shaken up.

What Happens Then?

The good news is that as you continue to let go of whatever and whoever no longer works well for you, a remarkable new constellation of friends, career, life purpose, intimacy and peace of mind will start to unfold – all that was meant to be uniquely yours. This is inevitable, my friends, when we choose to dig deeper and open to the unlimited possibilities our spirit is constantly whispering us toward. Our only other choice is to continue to hold ourselves back within the artificial limits posited by the louder voice of our personality, or ego, in its attempts to keep us "safe."

In terms of which voice has the power to lead us into the contentment and joy we seek, Spirit trumps ego every time. It makes no difference where you think you are right now – the only true obstacles to being who you were meant to be are the limitations you have come to believe you have.

Is This A Religious Site?

Before I take you on a tour of the Garage, a brief statement about the parameters of this site. We do not promote one particular belief system or spiritual discipline, and this site is non-religious.

What does the distinction between "spiritual" and "religious" indicate in the context of our site? I will quote Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D., an author and spiritual teacher whose thoughts on this echo mine:

"Religion is a bridge to the spiritual – but the spiritual lies beyond religion... one might say that the spiritual is that realm of human experience which religion attempts to connect us to through dogma and practice."

Although we have traditionally looked for answers outside ourselves, we must forge an inner connection to Spirit to find the deeper truths we seek.

Finding Your Way Around The Garage

The Soul Garage has been designed so you may start wherever you feel most comfortable or most curious and proceed from there.

If deeply insightful, supportive advice is what you most need, go directly to CONTACT US. Here you may submit your request and receive practical, objective guidance in written form for any persistent life concern. You can read brief excerpts of guidance I have provided and discover how it can benefit you when you visit GUIDANCE FAQ.

Each month I choose a recent example of my guidance for a feature called GUIDANCE OF THE MONTH. It is surprising how often seeing how someone else's issues are resolved can help with our own concerns!

RELATIONSHIP TOOLS is the place to start if you hit a bumpy patch, personal or professional, or if you want to activate the spiritual component within already high-functioning relationships.

DAILY TOOLS contains excerpts from original in-depth, how-to articles on such topics as finding peace of mind and using your whole brain, as well as our "Top 10 Tools for Life Mastery."

Whenever you want to read the complete articles excerpted in both "Tools" areas, click on RESOURCES.

Finally, for a more informal look at how I apply my own life tools to everyday experiences, check out DIANE'S BLOG. Here's where I let my hair down. Come along with me as I slide on the banana peel of life and get up all over again. And again.

I have created in The Soul Garage what I hope you'll find a comfortable, if sometimes challenging, hang-out. Here you can allow your deepest thoughts and fears to have their say without judgment. My heartfelt wishes are with you as you move forward through the fulfilling adventure your life was always meant to be. You deserve all the best.
